What is Barakah LDN?
Barakah LDN is a grassroots football community that creates safe spaces focused on empowering Muslim and Global Majority women and girls to stay active, find sisterhood, and develop careers in the field.
HOW WE
BEGAN
Barakah LDN was co-founded by sisters Siham and Sagal Abdullahi, a dynamic duo with deep expertise spanning sport, community engagement, media and the creative industries.
Founded in December 2021, Barakah LDN emerged from a shared experience of feeling excluded from mainstream football spaces. Determined to create something different, the founders built a space where marginalised women and girls could play, connect and experience a genuine sense of belonging.
